Interested in this awesome new technology but don’t want to watch the full 2+ hour Microsoft presentation? Here is just the part on the Hololens.
Interesting article! This may not only save MS money but businesses as well. It will certainly change how we view operating systems.
Microsoft came out swinging for the fence! This is a link to the complete presentation this morning. It may be the biggest set of announcements that Microsoft has ever made. This is a must watch! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ORs4990OAk
Here is an interesting article on a concept called “Internet of Self.” I can definitely see we are headed in this direction…..
AltpaceVR showed technology at CES where using a device such as Occulus Rift and Intel RealSense 3D camera system a participant could attend a virtual conference. Obviously there are potential telecommuting possibilities with a system such as this.
Services were part of the mix at CES, including Lexifone, which offers in-call translations in these languages: English-U.S., as well as English used in the U.K., and Australia; French Canadian, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Mandarin-China, Mandarin-Taiwan, Polish, and Portuguese both Brazil and EU, as well as Russian, Spanish-Mexico, Spanish-Spain.
A users dials into Lexifone, identifies the language that needs translation, and then reoriginates the call, or dials out to the other party. When a caller stops talking, the cloud-based system, after an approximately four-second pause, will translate. The accuracy for languages such as Spanish can be as high as 95%, and for Mandarin, the most difficult, about 70%, but it’s improving, said Patrick Tata, vice president of marketing. The service is available to consumers as well as businesses.

Now if they add Toyota’s hydrogen fuel technology to this, I’d say it is perfection. I hope we see it sooner then they anticipate! Road trips across country will be back!
Happy 2015! Thank you for your attendance. I am looking forward to the next 6 weeks together. I promise to make the class as enjoyable as possible, while teaching you all about Excel! The book ISBN for this class is Benchmark Excel 2013 L1&L2, 9780763853891. The Excel 2013 Level 1 only is 9780763853907. I would suggest looking for a used book at Amazon.com or half.com.
