Accessing Your Courses Using Canvas
Student Instructions
Our campus is closed due to an emergency, there are several easy steps you can take to get access to your courses. Your instructors will be using a system called Canvas. You have two options for accessing Canvas. The first is on a computer using a browser, the second is by downloading the Canvas Mobile app.
Canvas on Your Computer
Browsers
Canvas works best with the following browser:
(Internet Explorer is not compatible with Canvas.)
Step 1: Log in to Canvas
User Name: student ID
Password: First initial of first name capitalized, first initial of last name capitalized, @, two digits for month of birth, two digits for day of birth, and two digits for year of birth. For example, Sam Brown was born on May 2, 1985 would write his password as: SB@050285
You will then click the box that you are not a robot and then you will be asked to submit a new password. For your new password enter the first initial of your first name capitalized, the first initial of your last name in lower case, two digits for your month of birth, two digits for your day of birth, and four digits for your birth year. So, Sam Brown of above would write his new password as: Sb05021985
Step 2: Find your Course

Step 4: Access Your Course Materials
Your instructor should have course materials uploaded to Canvas. Here are a few places you can find your course content in your course navigation menu. (This may vary from instructor to instructor.)
Step 5: Class Meetings
You will still need to attend classes during your scheduled class time. Your instructor will let you know the tool that they have decided to use. Most instructors will be using Conferences in Canvas. To access your Conference:
